@fightinside1 its the main drone... it was made by a guitar effect that plays backwords, giving a sense of organical wave sound... it imediatly makes our brain associate the sound with blue water and summer...

If you enjoyed reading The Beach, then definitely pick up a copy of Garland's second book, The Tesseract. I read it while on vacation in Thailand in 2001. Definitely a phenomenal read!
