G1 Root Woot

This video is actually the old fashioned way on how to root your G1. There is an easier method. I posted the link here that takes you to method. I have tried it and it is a lot quicker than what is shown in the video. Once you have succesfully rooted to rc30. You can flash to any new rom, except hero, you need to update spl for that one.

Yea for sure. There is a way easier method to root now. Before it was this long method. I have the easier way to do it in the more info.

A gray screen doesnt show up. it comes up to a rainbow screen. please help me!!

If you have a stock phone, then you are supposed to see the gray screen by holding both power and camera button at the same time. Or try just holding the camera button.

Yes you could. just update it to whichever new rom you want....like hero :)

hello, i have got a little bit problem by doing this....my g1 stuck at 3:40.. it does says power for update and action for cancel..but it won't do anything..i press power and nothing happening.i press action and nothing happening...blacktel0n..do u feel this same way...anybody, got an idea... i really need to root this phone....thanks you....

well just the camera doesnt do anything. but when i do the camera + power it says on a really quick gray screen: NO IMAGE FILE

what does that mean?
