Henryton State Hospital

Established in 1922 as a tuberculosis hospital for the African-American population, and converted in 1963 to a special training program for severely retarded adults, the center closed in 1985.

Good information. I am done photographing there, having visited the location on numerous occasions. I was always struck by the fact that there are no KEEP OUT signs. The place looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

AS OF 1/30/2012 HENRYTON IS 24/7 PATROLLED BY SECURITY BC SCRAPPERS WERE CAUGHT ON THE PROPERTY AND ARRESTED! SO IF UR CAUGHT SECURITY WILL CALL THE STATE TROOPERS ON YOU. JUST A WARNING COMING FROM A FELLOW EXPLORER/GHOSTHUNTER.

Great video. Song...not so much, but it's just not my style.

Anyway dude, good stuff. I absolutely hate all the destruction and vandalism...so sad. Such history, and such blatant disregard by punk ass drug addict kids. Auditorium gone, and on our most recent venture (12/26/11) we discovered that the administration desk was also recently burnt to ashes. Such a beautiful place, ruined by worthless scraps of people.
