About the piece:
Antics Performance and Artistic Director Amy "Catfox" Campion premiere "Illuminated Manuscript" featuring performer-activated video projection and structured improvisations for eight breakdancers. What if dance is like handwriting, bodies trace "words" in space, and movement reveals profound truths? Can dance illuminate the human condition or shed light on our struggles and our hopes? Antics synthesizes body language, gesture, and street dance by drawing on the inherent strengths and concepts of breakdance tradition. Technical Director Quin Cabalquinto illuminates the dance with interactive visuals. Composer/Music Producer Jason McGuiness creates a soundtrack of tantalizing beats.
