The 2009 Little League softball world champions got a huge welcome home Thursday night.
The WRALL team arrived in Atlanta just before 8p.m. and then boarded a bus with a police escort down 1-75 to Warner Robins.
The team pulled into Flint Energies Field where the community welcomed them with signs, music, cheering and fireworks. They rolled into their home turf as sports stars, but got a welcome like rock stars.
"I didn't expect it to be this big. I still can't believe it. It's amazing," said Kelly Warner from the team.
Hundreds of people gathered to greet the girls when they hopped off their bus.
"It makes me feel really good that we have people behind us supporting us that would come here and be all here for us," said player Melissa Cox.
Each one of the players was recognized on stage for their part in such an incredible season.
"It was just a great feeling and everything's been so great," said Carson Carriker.
"We're all overwhelmed, so excited, we couldn't believe it. This is the biggest welcome we could've ever expected," said mother Stacy Stella, who traveled with the team.
