It's was a good lesson to the western democracies; never depend on dictators. This is why the policies now changes. This is why the US let the Iraqis after 2003 to choose their ow,n leaders.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day, the weak lose and the strong win. Even if Iraq gave America the Sun and Moon, it wouldn't matter. America is thirsty for black water and they will do anything for it. Anything. No wonder why they turn to religion. All they have is prayer.

Framing the entire political developments in modern Iraq through direct loyalties to Britain or America is a little dubious. I think a lot of the people you say were "loyal" probably hated the West. For crying out loud, the Ba'th Party hated everyone with equal passion.

This is a wonderful documentary. The British and Americans should be ashamed of the mess they made not only in 1918 but also here. What is sad and pathetic is when the Iraqis stand up for themselves they described as being terrorists.
