One person was killed Monday morning in east Kansas City when a vehicle attempting to elude police struck the vehicle they were in, police said. The wreck was reported about 10:35 a.m. Monday at 23rd Street and Hardesty Avenue. According to to initial reports from Kansas City police, Independence police had been pursuing a vehicle but had discontinued the chase before the vehicle was involved in the collision. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled on foot after the crash, but police arrest a suspect nearby a short time later. (Jan. 13, 2014 Video by Shane Keyser | The Kansas City)
