We set out to search for the wreckage of an Avenger airplane that crashed near Dryden Ontario in 1971 while fighting forest fires. Fortunately the pilot was ok, but had quite a story to tell. You can read all about it in an article we found from The Ottawa Citizen at the following link:

For those of you interested in geocaching, we also placed a cache there for you to find while checking out the crash site.

  • you try save wots left just a waste if they do scrap it

  • @my94holden We were pretty disappointed to see that someone had taken it away. Quite an interesting story. Yes, a waste if they took it for scrap.

  • thats cool

  • @my94holden Ya, it was pretty cool! Actually, I am just working on a new video from last summer. We went back to the crash site for a visit. We actually had a geocache hidden there, but it seems someone has gone in and taken most of the wreckage away. Including the geocache that was hidden in one of the wings! I have no idea why, maybe they took it in for scrap?? Not sure if they took it all away now, will check in the spring.

  • always interesting these wrecks that are kept in this way.. they have a story with it wich makes it very intereseting.. what i think. what ya guys think?

  • @flyerholland Yes, very interesting. Did you check out the link in the description? It tells the whole story.

  • @cubbeezx We had that last week, then it turned colder but really windy with high wind chills again. At least the sun shining!

  • lol lucky! Here in Ottawa the warm front brought +9 and rain with wind! So now all the sledding trails are closed and all the snow has a thick icy layer

  • @DirtAndSnowChris lol! Actually, that was last March-2010!! We have a ton of snow left, too much!

  • Wow you guys really have no snow left!
