@VideoGameWalk Not really. I grew up playing sims 3 but I'd always wanted sims 2. When I got Sims 2 I never went back to sims 3. I think its just whether you personally like the simplicity or complications of things.
I like Sims 2 for the amazing graphics when you record, and also the filming additions.
Of course, other people have different opinions in mind.

I remember the first time I got this. <3 It brings a tear of joy to my eye!
The thing that pissed me off though was that my house was tiny and I didn't know any cheats.
The mum had to have a bed in the kitchen. LOL.

I grew up playing The Sims 1. It was and is a fantastic game. Then I played The Sims 2 and dropped the first one. I never really thought it was better, but I had exausted the first one. And now I play the third one and I think it's the best one so far, in terms of what you can do, of game balance, mechanics, everything. AND there's still PLENTY of room for improvement.
