simply a superb piece of western outlaw lore, eloquently recited by the barrel chested, golden throated Lorne Green. Bonanza was huge down in Mexico where I grew up and when this song came out on both the American pop classics AND rock stations in Mexico City (circa 1964, 65), it went straight to the top of the playlists.

My Dad Played this song all the time in his company car,He was the fleet manager for chevrolet back when the Mets were just getting started and they all hung out at the Travelers Hotel across from Laguarita SP? Airport.WOW!!
