  • Very nice tactical ideas.

A question about the move h7-h6 at 4.01:

In this kind of positions I often think "I can play h6 but if the B goes to h4 I can not continue with g5 because of the sac." So then I don't play h6 at all. My question is What was the idea behind h6 if g5 can not be played? I mean h6 does weaken the pawn structure a bit.

  • Well checking with Rybka, it seems that if the bishop retreated to d2 say, then Black stands better. So perhaps Black wanted to strand the bishop on h4, not for an immediate g5, but preparing g5 first with g6 (top stop Nf5's), then Kh7, and only then g5, when the piece sac Nxg5 hxg5 Bxg5 can finally be met with Rg8. So basically h6 encourages either a passive bishop (on d2), or tactically vulnerable bishop (on h4).

  • god this intro music is getting on my nerves.

  • Great game and very nice approach from both players...thank you for your very useful comments...

just one thing...:is it possible black's last mnove Bxc5 to be the best possible move for black?i don't think so...of course still black is 2 points up,but i don't think such move was necessary...

  • im not sure, i think it would be closer than you think over a run of games.

    throw down the gauntlet majnu!:D

  • I care about mortal combat very much! I spend all day watching chess videos, hoping to gain insight into the history of mortal combat.

  • 2: After Qe2 Qe6 is so bad B:f6? (Q:h3 Kh1 dont win at once because blacks queen must make move back.I thought about variation B:f6 N:f6 ef dc and white cant move d4 B:d4, but they have move f5 attacking the queen and covering h3-c8 diagonal) Maybe black should go B:f6 N:f6 ef Q:f6 or B:f6 N:f6 ef dc f5 B:f2 fe B:g3 e7? Sorry for silly questions. Thats all because I don"t use engine. :)

  • Hi. Good high level game and great comments. I have some questions. 1: After f4 Ned7. Was possible the move f5 and what could be its consequences? (g5 is no good and Bf5 or gf ef gives a piece back.).

  • Thank you for your prompt response. It was a question I had wondered myself.

    Great Vids!

  • hahaha, yes I'm sure we both would like to play a game and enjoy drinking a few nice beers together after the game. But I'm afraid there is a difference in playing level that can not be denied and my king would be lying down in resignation at the end.

  • i would love to see kingscrusher v majnu!

    how about it guys?

  • Mortal Kombat????, THAT is the funniest thing I've heard today in the Chess World....
