So, judging from that win se7en should be lots of times better than vista and should have new features. I really hope seven wouldnt be a dissapointment since microsoft always had the issue of "the second OS is better than the previous one"

I've used it and even though it's better, it's not simple. They changed the taskbar and even Vista has a more usable taskbar.

is windows longhorn build 4008 of 5000 has like 1:23? it has picture on the taskbar (maybe) when you click the picture

the reason was that when they built XP it had all of it's components tied too tightly together what made implementation of new features and remaking of the system really hard. That's why they scrapped the project and started building a new system from the windows Server 2003 service pack source code. They made the new system (vista) better in ways of modding it, so that the development of new systems on the same code would be easier.
