It's not fake, it's a classic - I personally watched the whole thing in the cinema, and when the bunny burst out several girls left the theater screaming and puking up. I've never seen that happen in a horror film before.

Then there was cheering when Ripley dispatches that piece of nastiness through the airlock with a hearty "Buck Off!"
