http://www.BeyondOil.org The Sierra Club Beyond Oil Campaign will block the most dangerous oil projects (Keystone XL, Enbridge Gateway, Trailbreaker pipelines) and revoke the oil industry's license to operate above the law and interfere with our transition to a clean energy future.

    Greed is destroying this planet, and us with it. Is there any part of this earth that man hasn't defiled, or ruined? If there is, it won't remain that way for long. Makes me sick!

    Last I heard there was going to be one pipe line from the tar sand minds in Canada to the oil refineries in Texas. Not 4 or 5 of them.

    The only oil the US will be getting from these pipelines are from spills and the pollution that comes with it. Pipelines maybe marketed as the "safest way for oil to travel", but it's going straight to a boat and overseas. If Canada wants to diversify their oil exports, DO IT ON YOUR OWN LAND. In the end, this will only drive the price of oil up at home, and it does nothing about securing energy independence.

    It takes 2 full time running coal power plants in the US just to refine the uranium for our nuclear plants. Radiation levels at the typical coal plant are actually 100 times that of a nuclear plant. Nuclear is just so expensive, it's not a good alternative to wind. U of Delaware did a study a while back that said if we max our grid out with wind, we would only need a little storage and a little gas back-up (<1 or 2% of the time), and could do it at below today's cost of electricity.

    Keenkennyny : i agree,, to a large degree w/ ur quote "This country isn't divided by opinion. It's predominately divided by brain dead people who just don't give a shit."

    ----MY issue ::

    OUR lame, US tv & media IS the central problem : mainstream, "EVERYDAY" people DO NOT realize what's going on.

    Simple test :

    Watch Democracy Now (Ami Goodman) or other news now shown on 2 channels on DISH Tv & others as well:

    1) LinkTv ,

    and

    2) FreeSpeechTv.

    Most citizens JUST don't KNOW the facts.

    It's too bad this country is brain dead or else there would have been a revolution in this country years ago. If the country truly understood the banking systems and how companies take advantage of us I don't see how it would even exist.

    Corporations are literally sticking their dicks up America's ass and we're just laying there.

    This country isn't divided by opinion. It's predominately divided by brain dead people who just don't give a shit.

    Nuclear Power is not clean and not the answer (certainly not in an earthquake prone province like B.C. .... uranium mining contaminates the air, water and soil, and creates huge volumes of radioactive waste. No solution has yet been found for the safe and secure storage of the dangerous waste over a long time period

    It is not welcome in British Columbia either!!! We take all the risks, Alberta and China get all the benefits! The tar sands are destroying Alberta, environmentally, socially and politically! It is ruled a typical undemocratic petropolitical government. Oil rich countries, provinces and states all infringe on the publics democratic rights! Wake up people - get your heads out of the sand - the tar sands!!!
