actually there was a recent accident where the path just collapsed as someone was crossing because there was no steel beam supporting the thin layer of concrete. He fell 80 m to the rocks, rescue took about 4 hours to get him out of there but he mannaged to survive somehow.

I want to try this shit. I'd probably fall and die but still.

I hiked it 3 times and got caught my last time out. I wasn't arrested but they took my info down. If I get caught again it's curtains. My families hometown is approx 25 miles North so I go whenever I go visit my grandparents. I was told that there's been a high number of deaths...The adrenaline is what drives me.

@margoqml Yes, 25 metres would be enough.
-
@77and just to rephrase it - 50m used for double rope absail so the effective length would be 25m, that's still ok?
and thanks for all your answers!

@margoqml Yes there is a bolt in the rock for you to attach roped onto. Yes a 50 meter rope would be enough.

@and77 hiya! You can walk in from further North. The path becomes indistinct that's all.

@77and - when you say this is a one way walk, is there any chance of absailing at the end of the pathway instead of turning back?
Also, how long is the walk actually?
I'm planning to go there this year and need any possible info and advice! :)

@margoqml Yes you can abseil down. In fact a lot of people do that. The main section is about 500 metres in total.

@2704heatherwolf I suppose technically you can. It is only illegal to walk the rail lines not the actual walkway itself.
