  • When Maxwell render will include GPU rendering, like using the cuda architecture

    by Nvidia ?

  • Dear @godoptimus, today we are not considering working on the GPU. GPU architectures present some precision problems which can be fine for other applications, by they could break the correctness in physical accurate renders like Maxwell. Moreover, the GPU can only render scenes that can fit inside the GPU memory, so you could never use the GPU to render dense scenes. This is why demos of GPU-based renderers are always using low geometry scenarios

  • If this is Maxwell, then we got to know the specs... Time, No of PCs etc...

  • Hi @JTBDIMITRIS,

    PC Westmere 12 Core

    350 frames

    render time per frame: 11 - 13 min .

    Max RAM peak: 1,813,836

    total render time: 72 hours

  • More 2.6 Feature videos Please!

  • Render for many hours or many days....i don't think it is a Strange thing....it is still a little part of the duration i think.

  • Maxwellrender is good for studios renderfarms, but not good for a single person workstation even if it's the latest intel i7 or Xeon... that's sad !

  • I would like to use maxwell but even my i7 980 + 16GB ram is too slow for interior shots. :S

  • @MaxwellRenderLabs thanks for the reply I know that the memory of the gpu i limiting the sceens and geometry,

but in terms of speed its much faster than the cpu, but as you sad gpu has sam disadvantage for that kind of stuf :D so maybe making the hibrid by making together working , GPU and CPU will bee nice too seee in future :D

  • Probably took a week to render.. nonetheless very nice..
