Neta Cortez Shezaf is an international dancer who has performed with the greatest artists of Spain including Antonio Canales, Adrian Galia, and Mario Maya who gave Neta her professional name -- Cortez.
In Abanico Intimo she presents the Spanish fan, the abanico, in the many roles it takes as part of the performance.
The performance is accompanied by live instrumental music as well as innovative modern flamenco music.
Neta extends the traditional genre by using different fans as musical instruments. The use of the fans in this innovative way is a new and original way of expression, with each fan reflecting a different mood and character.
"My mulatto girl is a lump of baked cinnamon sugar, if you press her to your chest, she will heal your heart.. She's sweeter than grapes -- in all of Cuba you won't find a better sugar-cup!"
The show includes music which was born in the back-and-forth movement between Spain and the Americas, which created gems of true love and passion, of humor and playfulness. The best of these delicacies from Spain, Cuba and Argentina are presented to the audience in original arrangements to Flamenco music accompanying Neta Cortez Shezaf at her best.
