Wow you make it look so easy, I thought it would be a good thing for my step-son and I to do this, but it is so hard! We tried for an hour! Frigg! Little bit of smoke but, blahhh that was it! I will keep trying. Good vid!

so would this type of firemaking working with most types of wood?
808Arsenal 1 year ago
@808Arsenal It has been done with a lot of different types of wood. In genereal though you want to try softer woods and stay away from woods with a lot of resin. Harder woods will make it more difficult. For example using willow and mullein or cedar and elderberry are fairly easy. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.

@carlos1732 thank you Carlos. Lo mas importante es las maderas que usas. Use softer woods.

sheez that was good. I spent 3 hours doing hand drill method with just the base board and a stick and still couldn't get a ember, must've been doing it wrong. Could be that i was using a green branch to spin.

@MonsterSlayer14 Hello, using a green branch would make it very difficult. The wood I use is usually from a tree that has fallen but is not touching the ground. Either that or cut the wood type you would like to use, ie cedar and take it home to dry. What type of wood you use makes a huge difference. Keep at it and send me a message with any questions you have.
Take care,
Rob
