ファッションモデルのような美女ロボット「ＨＲＰ−４Ｃ」を、産業技術総合研究所（茨城県つくば市）が開発し、2009年3月16日、公開した。
身長１５８センチ、体重はバッテリー含め４３キロと細身のロボット。歩き方はファッションモデルのようにしなやかで、目が大きく、鼻は小さめの若い女性の顔をしている。微­笑んだり、驚いたり、豊かな表情をみせるのも特徴だ。
一度の充電で２０分間動くことができ、モデルと同じように、百貨店などで衣装を着せて歩かせることなどが考えられるという。同研究所は、早ければ１年後にも販売を始めたい­としている。
