  • my father always said I was named after this song.. love it thanks for posting...

  • You're welcome!

  • A wonderful song from back when I was 8 years old...I love this tune..

I use to love to watch Ed Ames play the Indian friend of Daniel Boone in the TV series... Long time ago...Thanks Ilovejenni

  • You're welcome!

  • Not only did I get to hear one of my favourite songs again, I also really experienced, for the first time on Youtube, that my speakers can be treated as discerning. The voices were in my left speaker, and the instruments were in my right.

Thankyou for making me fully realise that things can be done in stereo in Youtube.

All other offerings I've met have suggested that both speakers were treated the same.

Perhaps I haven't been listening closely enough. This made it very apparent.

    Thankyou.

  • You are very welcome! Try adding "&fmt=18" to the url of some song videos as well because this will often get the recordings to play in stereo.

  • @AndreaMimi1984 Oh, I'm afraid not. Ed is the only one left. And even he is well up in his 80s.

  • One of the best songs ever.Loved it even if I was Elvis crazy at that time

  • @garysaddleback ..Much ado about nothing...

  • @naganokumas ...mine are reversed....lol maybe I should switch the wires.

  • Once upon a time I had an album with the Ames Brothers singing "Amapola".....I haven't heard it in years...if you have it, please post it.

  • Very, very cool song. 3 of the 4 brothers are still alive.

  • One of their three best songs.

  • Well, folks . . . talented voices, no doubt . . . but WHY was so much of their vocal skill wasted on trivial, cornball material, such as "Rag Mop"? Pap to please the Eisenhower middle-class.

Because their career was rigidily controlled by greedy, money-grubbing parents?

The quality of their material never approached the level of the Hi-Los or Four Lads.

In case you can't tell . . . I LOVE to stir it UP!!!

  • If I heard this the first time I might like this version - but I heard the lennon sister's version first - added the sisters' charm - I immediately have a crush with janet knowing that she is now way beyond my era I being 42 ,still like their version , but this version is also great.....
