This is my 1956 HARMONY H62 archtop going through a cheap Kustom Contender 15w valve amp. It does sound even better thru a better quality amp. This guitar sounds amazing - I love the tone from the 40's Gibson P13's. Tonally they are fabulous - all that T-Bone Walker vibe. This is my favourite guitar. I have original Stratotones which I love dearly but now I have one of these I feel like I've really joined the Big Boys club! Check out some great players on You Tube who use them such as Mal Barclay (yeah he's too damn good!); Anders Lewin; Nick Curran; Eric Ducoff; Guitar Ray; Vince Lee; Spider; Benny & The Fly By Nighters; That Lenny Robert Guy; Rick Holstrom etc. I'll do another vid to replace this soon as it's recorded a bit quiet and I'll try to show the guitar a tad more. Cheers to all you guys who play these beautiful guitars and inspire me so much - great stuff, thanks

  • Hi, the strings are just E Ball Power Slinky 11's. I'm gonna try some flatwounds soon to see what they sound like - that's what everyone used back in the 50's. 'D'Addario Chromes' in 11's. Cheers

  • Hi, mine is quite a dark colour heading for orange really! It's really showing the wood grain nicely. No trussrod, circa '56/7 I think. The video is quite deceptive as it has loads of checking, scratches and wear but overall solid. Sadly no pickguard, did try a repro but it didn't look right so left it off. Yes lovely binding, great pups. Be nice to have the other type of tailpiece bvut Harmony changed them around over the years. Thanks for stopping by man, cheers

  • hey ademiller...what do you think of that kustom amp? can you actually get tube tones out of it? thanks...andy

hey did I ever reply to this, sorry if I didn't. Good little cheap amp with a valve in it. Now have a SWART Atomic Space Tone amp from North Carolina which is the best amp I've ever played through, really. Check out their website. Awesome tones for vintage and new guitars - beautiful stuff

  • It's time to get serious....

  • @ademiller1959 thanks for the info!! appreciated1

  • sounds great! what strings do you use?

  • @ademiller1959 i just picked up a crate palomino 16 and i love it...it's not super expensive but it puts out amazing tone...its a 15 watter and it can easily keep up with drums.i paid 200 bucks for it...what did the atomic space tone cost?..thanks man

  • That finish looks unusually clean. Great orange tone. My 62 is a pale blonde that has chips in the lacquer opposite the pick guard side, and more chips in the lacquer on the back, and some simple hand sweat has darkened those exposed areas. Would love to refinish the whole thing toward your color, but never will no work area...

Killer binding on these...especially when it matches the pick guard.

  • Nice Tone!!!

  • @maciverandy have got a contender, rate it, have posted review
