James Kalm is graciously allowed to document this, the first major retrospective of Martin Kippenberger at MoMA. This exhaustive survey covers works from the early eighties to shortly before Kippenbergers death in 1997. In Part I, Kalm focuses on the installations, and highlights the artists influential status in what has currently been termed Pathetic or Abject Art. Featuring an extended interview with Ulrich Strothjohann, Kippenbergers longtime collaborator and project consultant.

  • @MrWowforever All good artists

  • the entire Guild System :)

  • Super Video. Ich war in NY und habe die Austellung gesehen und war sehr begeistert.

  • So then, what would we have of Raphael? Or Sol LeWitt?

  • There are some exceptions to that: "the Man with the Golden Helmet" in Berlin was downgraded as "workshop of", but this doesn't make it a lesser painting at that; it is even better than many "genuine-touch" Rembrandts...

  • boring enough for you to respond........

  • people like you

  • tell that to koons, hirst and murakami.............
