Consider buying predatory insects like praying mantids or ladybugs. A quick google search will give you links to tons of sites. I use arbico organics myself. I got 3 egg pods of praying mantids last year and my japaneese beatle infestation was about 1/10 what it was last year. I have a kid and animals, and im broke, so i can afford chemicals.

This year im getting ladybugs too. It not only helps my garden, but the neighbors' as well.
