Yup I heard the dog food mix works great. I want to know the same thing as PetStarlings - do you still have the bird? Good job taking care of her there.

starlings are almost exclusive insect eaters and they need protien in their diet... try getting high protien dog food and mixing it with hardboiled eggs into a oatmeal consistency and feeding it to her in chunks... they cants digest water very well so to get it to that consistency with water...

Cute birdie! Did you know that they can fly way before they can eat on their own? It can actually take they a couple months to be fully weaned.
Hi, any one watching please dont feed the yohgart is bad for them! I have 2 starlings which I hand reared. a much better diet is dry chicken cat food thoroughly soaked . Please check out PETSTARLINGS group on Yahoo groups we have loads of members who would love to help, as well as food recipes. thanks. Do you still have him?
