Filmed in Super 8mm film during an August week in the Sierra Nevada, 1979. I believe this was my third Sierra Trek as a scout. Originally 19:01, it was excruciating to watch, and it wasn't shown much. I found it tedious to watch. Edited down to 6:43, it's just barely tolerable. And I think there is nothing cut that anyone would miss. Boy Scout Troop 506 in La Jolla went on Sierra Trek backpacking trips nearly every summer while I was a boy scout. This trip started at Courtright Reservoir and took place in the John Muir Wilderness between Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Parks. Courtright reservoir was drained for debris excavation the summer we were there. I recall this trip as the most beautiful mountain trip I had been on.
Great stuff!

Excriating but priceless. Refreshing video from the contemporary stuff. The socks, backpacks, lack of trekking poles, and absence of sound verify the authenticity. It's definitely a keeper and worthy of sharing. Thanks.
