Cliff Schecter joins Sam Seder to discuss how Republicans like Chris Christie and Peter King don't really care about the welfare of others until something comes along that effects them. They bring up Senator Mark Kirk, who recently returned to Congress after a year rehabilitating from a stroke, who has suddenly come out and said he learned a lesson in US health care after suffering his stroke...

It was either Connecticut or Massachusetts (can't remember which) that spent $1 million+ looking for Social Security cheats. They were convinced there were all kinds of people cheating the system. They found a grand total of 6! Not very cost effective.

You guys are right. Conservatives really don't have any concept of the world outside their own little bubble. I think the reason they assume everyone is cheating the system is because it's what they themselves would do given the chance.

I never have a problem with people calling other people idiots, including when they call me one.

As long as someone provides evidence that I am being an idiot. I debate the most stupid people all the time, it's annoying but someone has to do it.

You are right Sparitan. usam1981, wrong again. May I recommend that you don't try to debate with someone that refers to people as idiots yet don't presents the research to back it up?

No, the Housing bubble was started when the Clinton Administration forced the banks to make bad loans to people that they knew had no ability to pay them back. They tried to fix the housing crisis this way by putting more people into homes. When people started defaulting on their loans, that is when things started going down hill. Look it up.

the tarp bill was a response to the recession to stop the banks from failing and causing complete collapse of the economy. It was actually one of the things Bush did that saved the US economy.

Second, the housing bubble wasn't started during the Clinton years, you are thinking about the internet bubble. The housing bubble was started under Bush. The republicans controlled at least the house and often the senate for the majority of the last 20 years. So how is it all democrats fault?

He said his tours were $200 a person. Would I like to book a visit. See, what isn't for profit...is for something else ie, (what we are talking about). The Venus property was up for sale..don't know if it still is. Probably not a high demand parcel...it is out where it would be called "middle of nowhere". Sounds pretty good doesn't it?
