This electromagnetic flashlight uses the energy from the movement of a magnet in a solenoid. It never needs battery.

  • Hi. Some of these shake lights( the really cheap ones) have 2 x 2032 nickel size coin batteries in the loop as the capacitors they use are too small to maintain the charge level. But those coin batteries were not made to recharge even a minute charge for long. What i did what change to a 10F capacitor and replaced the 2032 coin batteries with a single CR-123 (protected) rechargeable li-ion, and a nite-ize led mag-lite drop-in.

  • @Terratracks Does the modified flashlight works better now?

  • I took mine apart the other day and I learned alot about how it works.. the thing im kinda stumped on is how would you be able to hook something like that up to a bigger energy cell so it can power something bigger?

  • @xXxDjShamblesxXx I think if you put a bigger magnet on a rotating axle instead of a slider, like one on each wheel for a car. This quad power could maybe recharge a regular battery or even an hydrogen fuel cell?

  • Do you know how to make these flashlights brighter? Would changing a bright LED do the job?

  • @sfboy94124

    Yes it would work

  • So an electromagnetic flashlight? But if light is a combination of electric and magnetic energy fields, and light it self is electromagnetic energy, then aren't all flashlights electromagnetic? Even candles are electromagnetic then. And because of blackbody radiation anything with heat gives off some form of light, humans and really all mater in some form is an electromagnetic emitter. So really I could title a cat video "electromagnetic cat"

  • @MrPopman774 Why are people like you so immature?

  • @shuhulpss i was about to post this

  • @corght Yes, much better.
