It's likely that the original Hawaiian beach boys were in the vicinity when this photo was taken (about 100 years ago). In these days, surfboard riding was known only to the Hawaiians, who themselves had already enjoyed this amazing sport for centuries. The great olympic champion, Duke Kahanamoku was an avid surfer - and his worldwide fame brought his love of surfing to the attention of the masses. He frequented the area shown in this old photo, and it would not be hard to imagine him out there in the breakers. Antique postcards, films, photos are like time capsules providing windows into a bygone era, and perhaps sadly, to a place that - for all pratical purposes - no longer exists.
Nice!!!
