It must be kept in mind that he's been blind since birth. It's all he's known so he's used to it. It can be harder when one goes from being able to see to being blind, for example.

Tommy, years ago I was reading about the then-oldest living woman in the world--I forgot her age, but, of course she was well over one hundred. The article talked about all the historic events she had lived through, and bla, bla and so on. What was interesting to me is that she had lost her vision from cataracts, and when she was told she could have surgery to restore her sight, she replied, "No. I've seen enough."

How did you know that you like one gender instead of the other? I feel like most of "sexual preference" has to do with sight. Girls look a lot different than boys.
