Time-lapse photography of a lily pad flower opening in the morning

This video shows a lily pad flower opening up on a summer morning. About 2 hours has been condensed into a little over 20 seconds.

At some point in the future, I will post a video showing how I made this one and without having to purchase an expensive intervalometer.

what's that flower called? ...i've been playing with the idea of making a pond and having some lily pads with those flowers like you do. is it difficult to grow and care for?..do you have to replant each year or does it become dormant in the winter?

It's a type of lily pad, although I'm not sure specifically what variety.

It's very easy to grow and we don't have to do anything to them... they basically take care of themselves.

They go dormant each fall and come back every spring... each time with a few more pads and flowers compared to the previous year.
