Cartech1974 wrote "Running nitrous freezes the gas, creating large explosions, creating immense power" <--- false, nitrous is not used in engines to freeze gas. When nitrous oxide is released into 1 atmosphere of pressure, it immediately turns to cool oxygen. That is where the power comes from whne usins NOS. Regarding intakes. Almost every vehicle comes factory with a (cold air intake) if you remove it, you'll see where the filter box has a port going through the inner fender to cool air.

To cartech1974,babyella07 you are both right warmer air will help the MPG and cold air will make alot of HP but this is not a race I have a coworker's wife that drives the same car just white as John does same motor and trans I live in NC he lives in VA So the weather will be about the same.I will run the car on dyno this week and try it every which way I can so I can have hard data I have rewatched the vid and will copy the temp mod as he has done so it will be as close as posable to the same.
-
The whole point was this its all about the MPG not HP as I said the "short ram intakes end about where the water tank is" not the cold air intakes. His car is a OBD2 car he has already got his intake temp senser relocated so the ECM dosent see any difference between now or before he cut the tube short. If anything by removing the intake silencer and shorting the hose he has helped. The small amount of heat added will only help his MPG and he will lose what 2-4hp on top end.

I would go with reinforced tubing as small as possible, Im going with 1/4" ID PVC reinforced as you have partially on your hookups above.. I wouldnt trust that clear tubing as far as I could throw it, since it will weaken with heat, and over time expand and cause leaks around the fittings as well.
now show the working system with data about any possible milage increase pls.
i haven't seen any videos about that on whole youtube, only these strange "tests" or how to put such a system in a car.

I suggest that you have not...
I had my last system up there running... including the millage ... go to my site.. click on YouTube and you will see the videos listed last video first.. look for the Honda..

Good work John! I am responding to jeffincq, he wants to use a lot of cells to keep the water cool, but why not circulate the water through a passive radiator? You could keep a constant optimum temp this way.
Just thinking....thanks!

I do believe it will work... we will see..

((((Hi John ! I'm using the same type hose that you've connected to the air in-take. Do you think that hose will stay up to heat generated in engine compartment ?))))
This comment was deleted my mistake
I am now testing the tube for that reason

I am a ASE Master of 14 years I sent you an email about the cold air intakes sold for your Honda. About the hot air hurting your MPG I dont think so heres why. Because alot of the short ram intakes end about where the water tank is just in front of the Focus cell on vid 174 you moved the air senser so shortening that intake tube will do nothing as far as the ECM is concerned and unless you do alot of city stop and go the under side of the hood gets plenty of fresh air. Thanks for your hard work.

I have (after your email) been watching the temp gage... I thank you for your interest...
