Braintree is comprised of John NIchols on keyboards and Jonathan Schang on drums. The aim of the project is to compose modern-day concert etudes, wherein we select a musical device, and base a piece around it.
"Skip to my Loop" focuses on incorporating repeated segments of music/movement/speech, or "loops." The piece begins with an intentionally hoaky musical section, which is then interspersed with varying loops made up of different musical snippets. Next, we move to loops dealing with a combination of movement and music. Lastly, there is a section featuring loops within speech, which includes some dramatic portrayals of varying emotions from the performers. Visit www.myspace.com/braintreeser for more info/music.
