  • The exaggerated cough ruined it. Otherwise, it would have been acceptable.

  • @loftymuses your right gets on my nerves too

  • This is great. Thank you for playing it straight, and not trying to be *funny*, or adding some "zinger" at the end. I laughed my ass off, sir. Tea well spent.

  • @willamato cheers

  • He hated radio

  • @loftymuses --- Well yes, got to admit, it's hilarious.

  • @sturatcliffe I think it was done for comedy's sake -- I don't think the actor was going for accuracy.

  • @sturatcliffe you sir are a connoisseur of Orwellianess

  • @loftymuses --- It is, but unfortunately this did not happen to Orwell with a cig he rolled. Victory cigarettes really existed, and Orwell knew of them (he once accepted one from Anthony Burgess in the Wheatsheaf pub). But they were ready-made cigs. Orwell would never have let that happen, he rolled his cigs with one hand, expertly.

  • @sturatcliffe The tobacco falling out is an allusion to Orwell's book 1984.

  • @loftymuses --- You're very generous, but nothing's accurate. A regular smoker doesn't usually study his cigarette so intently while rolling, and the tobacco falling out is plain stupid. Why has he left the lid off the tobacco tin? It's all so annoying.

  • Total rubbish. Cover your mouth.

  • Good try. I liked the hot tea pot!

  • @garryentropy You should re-due it without the cough. Everything's fairly accurate, and it's a gem considering there are no known video recordings of Orwell. The resemblance you share with him is a rarity.

If you do remake it, be sure to let everyone know it's your take on him. A lot of the bad ratings might be a result of the attempted deception. No one likes being deceived lol
