Personal Best, felt a little dirty and messy in spots. Could probably break into the 1:25 bracket, but this is just for future reference.

  • Is this more realistic then netKar Pro? Those guys have an impressive sponsor list... The steering inputs in this video seem a bit questionable for a formula car imo, but I've never tried so that's why I'm asking.

  • I've never tried netKar Pro but that is one of the games that iRacing gets compared against quite a bit. I had been away from sim-racing since the GPL days and had gotten invited into the beta for iRacing, so that is really my only sim experience over the last 10 years.

Shoot me a user message if you have any questions about it, and I'll do my best to help answer them.

What about the steering inputs was questionable? Other than me yanking it around certain turns ;)

  • But smooth is obviously good :)

So maybe the difference between real and IR is just driving technique. I'll be giving it a try soon, that should get my questions answered :)

  • Oh definitely, I highly recommend buying a 3 month membership to start + Skip Barber + Virginia International Raceway. Simply because you should advance through the rookie series in 4 weeks, get promoted to License D (which is Skip Barber) and then VIR configurations are nearly half of the Skippy season. You'll be set, and if you want to try the Mazda it uses VIR as well. ;)

Any questions, shoot me a message on here. And if you do sign up, help a homie out and use my email. ;) Just lemme know.

  • I dunno, it seemed very smooth when you did it. But when you watch a real video it looks like they are turning the wheel in bursts, I guess it's either because that way they are prepared to catch the rear should it come loose. Or it could just be the wheel reacting to bumps, hard to say though since I've never driven a formula car lol.

  • Nice lap btw :p
