It's because some peole have 64 bit vista which most programs arent' designed for since I think 64 bit uses a different coding or something.
64 Bit does NOT use DOS in any way whatsoever unless you get the unoffical Dos Box application.

@jay6157 just download it off the pirate bay if you dont have the original discs...however if you do have the original discs use superISO to extract ISO image and then you can play them.

it's far better than epsxe, as it's the PC version. there are various methods of cheating, but search for "ficedula" in google. i'm sure this'll help you out for cheating :D
How come I don't need the Virtual PC to run FF7 in Vista. When I installed FF7 on Vista, it just ran and played 100%. I don't understand how most of you get problems. Tell you the truth, I used a Pentium 3 to run FF7 on Vista. And yes, a pentium 3 can run Vista but it's rating is only 1.0. Although the PC version of FF8 doesn't work.

some vista machines can run it, my nephews vista laptop runs it fine

i think it was a false report as stuff from the microsoft site doesnt come with trojans ussualy, also try running it in adminstrator mode i think that might make it install properly

i have vista 32bit i downloaded this game it worked the first time but now when i try it i get a black screen but i can hear the sound??? what the hell do i do

pressin cntl alt delte or start button then clicking ff7 on the task bar may work
