john major was a disaster as pm - he talked crap 24 hours a day - who can forget his spiteful hypocrisy in saying it would turn his stomach to talk to the ira - while talking to the ira - bastard.
-
I've forgotten how weird his voice is. He doesn't sound like Mr Bean. He sounds like Mr Bean stoned.

@osborncameron He didn't work as a bus conductor. He worked as an insurance clerk; then he worked for his father's business; then he was unemployed; then he moved in to banking, whilst simultaneously carrying out his duties as a councillor. Get it right for goodness sake.

@PortVale90 Is that true?, many respect.

Decent man and good leader, but found himself in very unfavourable circumstances due to his idiotic party.

It's inbelievable that the UK voted in Tony Blair and got rid of Sir John.
People deserve what they get I suppose. Imagine how well we would all be doing now if the Brown/Blair dictatorship hadn't of trashed our country with their Spend Spend Spend and open-door immigration policies. Shame on all you Labour voters. Please leave the country.

@dragonlee90 I agree and Sir John talks with such candour and reasonableness
A very much underrated PM. When he left office, he left a fantastic economy for Gordon Brown to ruin. It was a monumentous task to take over from Lady Thatcher, and I think he did well. Yes, there were problems, but once they left the ERM, Britain was on the road to recovery thanks to Major and Kenneth Clarke

I think John Major is a great guy. Born in Brixton(a bad neighbourhood) and then working as a bus conductor later a banker and ending as a former prime minister who was in office for about 7 years. I think that is what you can call a succesfully selfmademan.
