Invacare's TDX - SP power wheelchair

The mid-wheel drive TDX - SP wheel chair has a fault that I do not want
anyone to experience. For me, the left side middle drive wheel lock up
off the ground, making me and the chair drift backwards into traffic.

Update. Finally found a mechanic that could think. The noise was coming from a lose screw inside the motor cover on the left. This has happened before with my last Invacare chair. I reported it to them and suggested they contact the manufacturer of the motor as it is a safety issue. I don't think anything changed. Now I have a newer model of their product and the same problem.

The mechanics could not find a replacement, so they had to re-thread the screw.

You open the back plate on the motor.

Thanks Freakeh7, I was told by the "store" that Invacare said the tonk noise was from a motor not tightened, but then why did they not tighten it?

The local retail store where I purchased it is a big part of this problem.

This motor was already replaced! Not even a year old. So I really think Invacare Canada needs to take the customers concerns more seriously. I spoke to the Engineer, and was told there was no problem. But it still makes the noise.

i hate this chair.... just got it not even a yr ago and im having so many problems with it plus it like to flip frontward on me when i go down ramps. its not a good chair for someone who cant stand or walk im going to try n get me another.

If you have to cross that busy street, why don't you drive down one block to the traffic light? When you zoomed in on the up-coming traffic, it showed there's a traffic light where you could easily get everyone to stop, or is it too hard for you to push the joystick over and go one block left?

There is a danger with the TDX - SP. I experienced a sudden loss of control after crossing a 5 lane highway, and started to roll back into the road. There was not warning. So I am posting this video so you know what "sound" to look for. I believe that this tonk sound I am trying to demonstrate indicates that the suspension may lock the drive wheel off the ground.
