Under Ayub Leadership, industrial sector growed rapidly ,This improved the economy. Khan also passed educational and land reforms, which also benefited the growth of Pakistan. It was under Ayub Khan that the capital was moved from Karachi to Islamabad, newly built city in 1962.
During the midnight between September 5 and September 6, India crossed the Lahore border, despite assurances at international forums that it would not cross international borders.
The next day, then Pakistan President Ayub Khan addressed the nation and said, 'We are at war with India.'
The speech is considered as one of the most memorable by a President of Pakistan. 'India has dared to go to war with a people whose hearts are filled with the message of Kalama of Quran that says there is no one like Prophet Mohammed: the Prophet of Allah.' Khan said. 'We will never tolerate such attacks. Our army has been sent to borders and you too must be ready and form the second line of defence.'
It was a special moment in Pakistan's history. It was when we became a nation. A wave of emotion covered Pakistanis. People came out in big numbers to participate in rallies in support of the army.

  • TWO NATION THEORY ZINDABAD!!!!!!!!!! HELL TO INDIAN NATIONALISM!!!!!!

  • y r indians barking over here????? they must get lost!!! indian nationalism has terribly failed! kashmir, khalistan, maoist naxalites r a clear example of it!

  • Contd:Two Nation theory proved to be Nonsense in 1971 when Bangladesh created. In the beginning Ayub Khan showed himself to be man of principle. From the very beginning after creation of Pakistan,he wanted to be the President of Pakistan.Jinnah was killed by the people of Liaqat Ali Khan. It was too late for him to realize the fact and send a letter to Nehru to stop the division of India. The messenger could not reach to Nehru.Who are the gainers? Pakistan/Bangladesh the politicians. Both are same.

  • To Members from Pakistan/Pro-Pakistani:If you want know, real History How India was divided for Two Nation in three parts.you should read a book FREEDOM AT MIDNIGHT By Dominique Lapier & Larry Collins.In1965 Pakistan sent some intruders in Kashmir as a result India had to cross the border line.Dear Fellows:Whats happening now?Pakistan become homeland for the terrorist,Al Qaida and Talebans.Ask your self who Killed Bhutto and his daughter Benazir.Gandhara Industries belongs to WHO? Contd..

  • One word, he was a swine, the reaon what Pakistan has become today is due to his devlish acts and his own person!
