Just use audacity. It's the free option. Recordpad is another option, but it costs money to use.

As for the HD PVR setup, I wouldn't know anything about that. But this video does explain how to record with S-Video.

My first day of high school? Let's see. My first day was almost 12 years ago. With it being a new school district, it definitely was different. But from what I remember, it was okay.
