If Tavis Smiley has such respect for President Obama, why would he have Jesse Jackson on the STATE OF BLACK AMERICA

Jesse Jackson said that he wanted to sexually mutilate Barack Obama. This is a despicable act that use to take place when black men were lynched in the South.

Jesse Jackson KNOWS this! Why would he say such a thing or even think such a thing.

Tavis shows what he really thinks of Obama when he invited Jesse Jackson on his show.  It looks like he agrees with Jesse Jackson.

I do not support drug dealers but I do support taking control of your life and on the most basic level the drug dealers are smarter than the drug users. Chris Brown hit a woman for no good reason and just because you like his music doesn't change that. He could have walked away but he didn't and now he has to suffer. Jay-Z sold drugs but guess what he had a reason. Yes it was the wrong way to solve it but he still did and it's over and he's repaying his debt to society by charity.

Yea but see there's a difference in the crimes. Chris Brown has anger problems and beats a woman. Jay-Z is poor so he offers drugs to people who have a choice of whether or not to take them.. Give me a break. A grown ass person no matter the class is fully aware of the consequences. There is no excuse and drug dealers aren't the ones to blame. If people are depressed they need to figure out why and fix it. Stop blaming others because you can;t control your life

Hip Hop started out as a social conscience effort..it was not about selling drugs or sex. Chris Brown beat ONE woman, but there may be women still destroyed today from Jay-Z's drug dealing. And I'm sure he sold to more than 300 people. And FACT: AMERICA'S UPPER CLASS BUY MORE DRUGS THAN POOR PEOPLE. VALIUM,ANTI DEPRESSANT..FACT:POOR PEOPLE WHEN STRESSED DON'T HAVE THE LUXURY TO GET A SEDATIVE OR AN ANTI-DEPRESSANT WHEN DEPRESSED.WE COULD ELIMINATE A LOT OF DRUG USE W/EQUAL MEDS.

On any class level people still have a choice of whether or not they want to buy drugs. I've been offered drugs and guess what I said... No. The impoverished aren't stupid and in fact because they're impoverished they should know better. It's nobody's fault but your own if you buy drugs.

That shit affects Jay to this day and I believe the fact that he gave over 100 million to charity and has a special seat in the UN specifically dealing with the issues of bringing clean water and quality food to Africa (which is WAAAAAAY more impoverished) makes up for the 300 or so people that he sold drugs to back in the day. Hip hop is EXACTLY what it started out as. Hip hop is an alternate path for people who otherwise would have ended up caught up in the streets. I get what your saying but the difference between Jay and Chris is that Jay-Z did his crimes before he be came successful and lets be honest growing up in that type of enviroment what good could you expect to come from Marcy projects.
