well i guess u are right on the point of ak-47's and such... but there is no reason that a citizen should not have the right to own a semi-auto weapon. I ask you, what would happen if a country like china or some other powerful country were to invade the U.S.? sure, we would have the national guard and such but if all citizens are decently able to defend themselves our nation would not have to worry about attacks from foreign countries as much as we do now.

so you think it is fine for people to own AK47s which are designed to kill people, police officers would have less firepower than a citizen with an AK47. Hunting rifles i don't have a problem with but have you heard of the Barret M82 Anti Material Rifle? It is designed to shoot the drivers of tanks. Its rounds can also pierce several walls, if it hit someone they would have an entry and exit hole the size of a dinner plate. This weapon is actually availible to the public, so much for protection

While liberals believe that people should not have guns or have limited gun rights, conservatives believe that citizens should have guns to protect themselves from harm, so instead of it being a government dictated safety blanket, it is the citizens who have control, hence there being more freedom.
