Good but how bright is it from the sides?

Just a story, the other day i was driving (with my cager) after a mini cooper. That thing had a huge bulb at the back in the middle. I gotta say, that light was so bright, you could see the street. It like some one put a red headlight behind the car.

Please read our articles and you'll see that most of the time the LED lights aren't nearly as bright as normal incandescent bulbs. Plus, the size of a motorcycle tail light is so small compared to a car or truck that I'm not sure there is a bulb that could ever be made that would blind the following drivers.

Good question - at some point, the overall brightness may distract following vehicles from understanding what you're doing, or they may lose some three-dimensional perspective to tell how far away you might be. So it may not always be a function of brightness; surface area of the light(s) may also be important. Unfortunately, there haven't been many (any) studies of this that I know of.
