  • @bestamerica Not sure what you're asking, but this is a video to supplement a story on brake and tail lights. Read the full article and more articles about LED lights on motorcycles on webBikeWorld.

  • still confused about the neccesary combo of resistors for running and brake light

  • @DecaPierce I've never needed them. Usually nothing special is necessary.

  • Good but how bright is it from the sides?

Just a story, the other day i was driving (with my cager) after a mini cooper. That thing had a huge bulb at the back in the middle. I gotta say, that light was so bright, you could see the street. It like some one put a red headlight behind the car.

  • Please read our articles and you'll see that most of the time the LED lights aren't nearly as bright as normal incandescent bulbs. Plus, the size of a motorcycle tail light is so small compared to a car or truck that I'm not sure there is a bulb that could ever be made that would blind the following drivers.

  • Yeah, great idea, let's blind the driver behind us so he'll run over us... great security improvement !

  • Good question - at some point, the overall brightness may distract following vehicles from understanding what you're doing, or they may lose some three-dimensional perspective to tell how far away you might be. So it may not always be a function of brightness; surface area of the light(s) may also be important. Unfortunately, there haven't been many (any) studies of this that I know of.
