@cvelizh Speeds vary and are currently approximately 180mph for an N700 or an E5 down to about 130mph for a 100 series. The double deckers you see here are going to be scrapped soon, They run at about 145mph.

@WaiWu THOSE ARE FRIEGHT TRAINS, big difference in technology. And for the most part they don't have to be as aerodynamic, they travel at 80 tops with a huge 16 cylinder 2 stroke diesel engine that connects towards an alternator which leads towards big traction motors on the bottom.
