A fisherman at Lamma Fisherfolk's Village explained that the horseshoe crab's blood is actually blue and not red like most familiar creature's blood. The reason for this is that their blood uses copper molecules instead of iron as oxygen carriers. Horseshoe crabs are actually related to spiders and are not crabs at all! Later he showed us some baby starfish.
