if you recall from an eariler video, i had a proof of concept of speech recognition. I was never quite satisfied by it, so i got rid of it, and decided to come back to it later. I got some better equipment, some better software, and I am at it again. In this video you can see a demo of jarvis running commands via voice control.
Also, you can see some initial efforts of language interpretation.

  • if you're going to try and do natural language processing, why not drop the "run command" suffix? you'll have to keep crunching the input audio constantly, but it shouldn't really be a problem to try and spot commands from a users, especially if you can detect inflections

  • @stubert311 i have plans to remove the "run command" thing.

  • this is brilliant, dude!

  • Pretty awesome man! Don't know if you have done this yet, but you should link it up to your phone, where you can call jarvis and speak to him through the phone. I have seen you IM him but doing this would be awesome! Also have you thought of making JARVIS portable. By that I mean you can link to electronics and stuff outside your house. Perhaps at your friends house if you wanted to turn on the TV or etc.

  • Siri husband!!

  • @ProjectJarvis Are you going to sell this?

  • Why not install a stationary microphone in each room of the house? that way you dont have to have that one around your neck all the time

  • this is amazing ... wow

  • how did you program JARVIS

  • @TokyoNerd what are the names of the someware or programs of what they have done, I am also working on a more simple version, and am searching google for ideas.

  • @TokyoNerd The difference here is that this dude has done all this alone... with 700 dollars, and with accessible hardware/software, if this was his work and had help Jarvis might be more like the Jarvis from the movie, and that would be fucking awesome.

  • What you've done so far is really amazing, but you still have a long way to go. What I've noticed is, anytime you want your system to do something, you have to tell it a command. Basically, you've created a speech recognition program with some advanced commands. Nothing special, we've has this tech for a while. In Iron Man, the system could run on it's own without having to be given a command. In Japan, they created exactly what you have a few years ago. It's been done.
