the monks leave their life for a life for God.they stay in monasteries,where they pray for their souls and for all the world,they paint,write,create religious clothes.they don't sleep too much,because is considered a sin any kind of exageration.they don't eat too much,just simple food,without specialities.their life is very simple,they never get married,some of them move in the mountains where they pray and live a wild life in the God's name.some of them become saints,and this thing can be proofed after their death when their bodies remain intacts,having a beautiful smell.
their life is not at all simple,they have to fight with all the temptations of the world and to imitate the life of Jesus Christ.
they pray day and night and stay in touch with God in every moment of their life.

Brother EverythingZen14, what you have said is totally true, and our Orthodox Church is the only Church hat can trace its Patriarchs back to 33 A.D from the Pentecost, when the apostles where Patriarchs

Rome looks more secular & bureaucratic, Orthodoxy looks more... spiritual, imho. It's even seen in priests, monks' fashion.

@SerbNegroMonte agreed! I used to hunt for the path to God and went to Catholic, protestant, baptist churches but never found the feeling of the holy spirit and spiritual warmth in their churches! I then went to a Orthodox church and found what I was looking for

To clarify, I do believe that the Orthodox Church has preserved the True Faith, and that the other, so called 'churches' cannot be trusted. I have no qualms with that. I am not promoting unity with Western churches, that is just nonsense. Now, if Rome wanted to repent of her ways and accept all 7 Councils and renounce her heretical teachings and practices, then there can be union. But, under no other circumstances can this happen with any religious group of any kind, Christian or otherwise.
