In overtime, a high sticking penalty by Wild defenseman Greg Zanon on Canucks forward Alex Burrows put Vancouver on the powerplay.
With 4 Canucks and 3 Wilds on the ice, a Minnesota player breaks his stick, essentially putting their team down another man. Using this to their advantage, the Sedins work the puck around in the slot, finally setting up defenseman Sami Salo for the one-timer, which he buries in the back of the net.
With that goal, Canucks "officially" clinch the NW Division for the 2009-2010 NHL season. Second year in a row to do so. And third division title in four years.
