Ignacy Zalewski (*1990) - "Kujawiak" for viola and piano

I wrote this piece in September 2009.
It was awarded (2nd Prize (1st not awarded)) on the 4th Silver Pane Composer's Competition dedicated to new, educational contemporary music, and has its premiere in Krakow City Hall in January 2009.
This recording of the second performance of Kujawiak, comes from the 13th Uczniowskie Forum Muzyczne Festival (Student's Music Forum), organized in my school - Brzewski High School of Music.

---------
Katarzyna Grygiel - viola
Ignacy Zalewski (the composer) - piano

--------
Kujawiak is a Polish traditional dance, a type of mazurka, developed in classical music mainly by Chopin and Szymanowski.
My Kujawiak refers to these two Giants, but also to the Kujawiak dances by Wieniawski and arias from operas by Stanislaw Moniuszko.

------
This performance was recorded by Piobuko.
