This video, my first ever submission to YouTube, is called "Secure Hard Drive Data Disposal". In it I demonstrate the best tool to use to secure your data prior to disposing of an old hard drive. This tool can be employed on all drives and drive types, and works regardless of their functional status. In today's environment, this process is truly the ONLY sure way to guard your security.

  • you're an idiot, take this video down before some jackass does this and thinks it works.

  • DOD standard is that the hard drive has to be cut up into 1mm cubes at the biggest to avoid retrieving any data.

  • Or you could just zero-fill a few times.

  • blowtorch or cutting torch and the most fun. mmmmm molten harddrive

  • It can still be recovered via electron scanning microscope methods.

More secure = heating all the platters 100% of their surface area till all magnetic patterns are destroyed. High heat rearranges & destroys magnetism.

    It also melts metal.

    No recovery possible.

  • My old comp got a virus that totalled the cpu. What's the best way to dispose of a hard disk? 20 lbs of M-80's! yah i'm gonna videotape me blowing it to pieces next year on july 4

  • nice I just need a pick axe now!
