Oh yeah, player.. look up Clinton's actions in the 90s. He stopped Afghanistan's Islamic Government from crushing the Taliban in the late 90s when they had the chance..

He also stopped Iran from using Military action against the Taliban. Also, as soon as your Country went in - the bulk of U.S Aid went to Heckmatyar, the Region's number 1 Drug trader, the CIA started bringing in other known drug dealers.. this is all after the Taliban crushed the Opium industry.

As for ''Retaliation'' - Well, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. The people of Afghanistan were put at (Several Million of them) were put at severe risk of Starvation because of the bombing. Is that ''Retaliation'' ? The entire Country is under Taliban Control and your Countries troops have to make frequent retreats that don't get reported..

Any man that thinks the Afghanistan War was about ''Retaliation'' is just saying ''I'm a blind supporter of Government''.

The Lord may not fly Towers into Planes, maybe he did though. As has been pointed out, there was (And still is) absolutely no evidence showing Osama was responsible..

There was loose evidence that shows his networks were involved in the backgrounds, but when asked by the Taliban for evidence (Because your Country prides itself on Constitutionalism, the rule of Law etc) against Osama, your Country declined and when offered Osama tentatively, Bush went on Television to decline..
